Life is, sadly, full of stuff that gets broken. Maybe you’re just having a look around the table for crumbs and a cup falls off and shatters. Or maybe your nicest leash just plain wears out and breaks.
My Honest-to-God First Thought was &%$# You
Have you ever tried to save somebody? Not from a burning building or something (though, seriously, that's awesome). I mean in a spiritual sense. Saved them from, say, eternal damnation? Saved them through the blood of Jesus Christ?
Forgiveness as Letting Go
It’s a good thing I’m not God. Even though I’m a Universalist at heart, there are some times when I just have to give up on someone or something. I try to do it gracefully, even lovingly, but there are times when I have to let go of the idea that I can fix a situation or a relationship.
